If you’re tempted by the thought of a holiday to the ICEHOTEL® or you’ve always dreamt of visiting South America then why not head for Heddon Street in London this July. Every Wednesday in July on Heddon Street you can watch exclusive ice sculpting as part of a unique celebration of ice, whilst listening to live music from BelowZero’s resident Jazz band, the Madness of King Jazz. An ice sculpting competition will culminate in the winning design being sculpted live on the street on Tuesday 31st July by artists Thoms and Nilsson (who designed the latest ABSOLUT ICEBAR ‘London Theme’).
The winner of the ice sculpting competition will be awarded a free holiday to the ICEHOTEL® courtesy of
us here at Discover the World. Restaurants along Heddon Street will be offering a taste of South America and amongst other things, you will find Matusalem Rum here – one of the finest rums in the world – smooth, mellow and refined, filled with Cuban tradition and over 130 years of history. It won’t matter if it’s raining as you soak up the vibrant atmosphere and watch the intricate ice artists at work. Ice sculpting is incredibly therapeutic and to see how the artists connect with the ice is incredible.
All the ice being used in the competition comes from the Torne river in Sweden, the frozen water of which is also used to build the world-famous ICEHOTEL® in Sweden. This ice is amongst the clearest and purest ice in the world and is also used to create the ABSOLUT ICEBAR in London. So if you’d like to get inspired by the ice, or would simply like an evening which is out of the ordinary, then head down to Heddon Street this Wednesday, or the following Tuesday for the finale and you’ll be able to get an insight into the world of ice sculpting and a taste of South America.
If you’re inspired by the ice then why not consider a visit to the ABSOLUT ICEBAR in London or a holiday to the ICEHOTEL® in Sweden.
