British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) is dedicated to the rescue of Marine Mammals and Seabirds around the UK including seals, dolphins, porpoises, whales and turtles. They are currently raising awareness and funds for the plight of these animals.
A charity auction is being held to help raise vital funds to be used directly for rescues in the South West, which has just received its first rescue boat (stationed in Cornwall). They hope to raise funds to cover the running, equipment and training costs required for the vessels maintenance and use. Discover the World has kindly donated some wildlife books for the auction.
The event will take place on Friday 2nd June 2006 at 7:30pm at The Mermaid Inn, Alexandra Road, Porth, Newquay, Cornwall. Contact 01637 872954 for further information.
